There are many reasons for choosing VM Zinc for your roofing and façade projects. Zinc is naturally resistant to corrosion, is extremely durable and does not require costly maintenance.

In addition, the flexibility, malleability and versatility of zinc, combined with its pleasing appearance, make it the material of choice for imaginative building projects from individual homes to commercial complexes, public buildings and private projects.

“VM Zinc is a living skin, a noble material which enhances the work of the roofer and the creativity of the architect.”

As a non-ferrous metal, VM Zinc is naturally self-protecting. With time, it forms an attractive light grey patina. It does not rust, requires little or no maintenance, is remarkably resistant to corrosion and is perfectly watertight. VM Zinc offers durability and long-term cost-effectiveness, together with the potential for all types of working and shaping. Zinc is a natural element extracted from blended ore. At the end of a metallurgical process including roasting the blend, reducing the zinc oxide obtained and refining it by electrolysis, we obtain the zinc used in construction. Following hot rolling, the sheets, coils and small coils are ready to be turned into finished products.

Metal Processors supply VM Zinc in a range of  pre-weathered finishes: Quartz Zinc, Anthra Zinc and Pigmento coloured range. These finishes can offer an architect a changing aspect to their project when used as either standing seam roofing and cladding or range of rain screen façade systems. We supply VM Zinc for traditional long strip roofing in 0.7mm or 0.8mm coils and sheets and we also have available in thicker gauges for rain screen systems. We also supply Zinc rainwater systems which include zinc gutters and downpipes in both half round and box profiles.

TYPES OF FINISHES

The PIGMENTO® range is based on QUARTZ-ZINC® to which mineral pigments are added. This coloured finish preserves the naturally grained texture of pre-weathered zinc. The coating and pigments do not in any way alter the environmental properties of pre-weathered VM ZINC®. Moreover, the coating does not contain chromate development.

Natural VM ZINC® has a shiny metallic appearance when new and develops a patina naturally over time. Thus it gradually takes on a uniform matt grey
appearance.

Bilacquered VM ZINC® 6 colours are available: stone white, sky blue, copper green, autumn brown, slate grey and Macao brown. Non standard Bilacquered colours are also available (in large quantities ONLY, any colour-min. order 10 Tons). Please contact our technical office for further information.

QUARTZ-ZINC® offers an appearance and texture close to the patina developed by natural VM ZINC®. The grey tones of QUARTZ-ZINC® and its structural flexibility bring out the character of a building from the outset. Appreciated for refurbishment, its natural-looking colour blends well with other existing construction materials.

Its name reflects the charcoal colour, offering many combination possibilities. ANTHRA-ZINC® is covered on both sides with a surface treatment with anti-corrosion agents. ANTHRA-ZINC® lends itself to highly structured architecture.
